What is an all-inclusive resort?
An all-inclusive resort is a holiday package that will charge you a fixed price to include most or all items that you would expect at a resort. Sure you will get the common amenities of a resort but in many cases you will get unlimited food, drink, sports activities, and entertainment all for a fixed price.
Now, you can check out all the companies offering all inclusive resort vacations and holidays. You can find it all. Go all out and splurge or find cheap flights and accommodation. There are many ways of reaching your dream destination. But just imagine for a moment a vacation where you don't need to put your hand in your pocket. Everything is included from the moment your flight takes off to when you return. Forget about worrying about the final hotel bill.
So, what's included?
Food and meals are all included. That means breakfast, lunch and dinner and sometimes daytime snacks and an afternoon tea or coffee. Most meals are buffet-style and specialize in local and international dishes.
Unlimited drinks. You get it all. Unlimited locally made wine and beer. Spirits and soft drinks are usually available all day and all night.
Sport. Depending on the resort you have a wide variety to choose from and they are all inclusive. As an example you may have tennis, golf, volleyball, racquetball and water sports such as sailing and windsurfing. And don't forget the pool.
Entertainment. This depends on the resort again but usually you have programs all throughout the day and well into the evening such as games and competitions or cabarets and discos.
So, are there any negatives when considering an all-inclusive resort? Perhaps the main one would be that most resorts are usually located in a remote out of the way location that is away from the local population. This makes it a little difficult for visitors to see the local sites. This affects the local economy because people not spend in the local restaurants and shops. However, visitors to the resorts still have to travel to local towns and airports to get to the resort and this, in fact, helps the local economy providing jobs in remote areas.
Still, all-inclusive resorts have become very popular choices for many people who want to enjoy all the comforts of a resort and still have control over their holiday budget.
